Ha long Bay is a must do if you travel to Northern Vietnam as its the most beautiful bay on the western side of the Gulf of Tonkin. It has almost 2000 islands and islets of which most are limestone.

According to local legend, at the beginning of Vietnams development when the country was trying to protect itself from invaders, the gods sent a family of dragons to protect it. This family of dragons started spitting out jewels and jade which turned into islands and islets throughout the bay, these islands and islets then linked together to form a great wall protecting the Vietnamese from invaders.
