Established as a hill station in 1922, Sapa today is the tourism centre of the northwest. A small mountain town in Lao Cai Province, it is located about 350km northwest of Hanoi, close to the Chinese border.
Hiking and enjoying nature is the hallmark of Sapa. The most notable attraction around Sapa is Fan Si Pan, which is the highest mountain in Vietnam.
